Stories from the villages, for the families who left them.
Over several years I have returned again and again to the villages of Mets Masrik and Khachik in Armenia, photographing families, filming with local crews and scanning the albums they keep. Many of those families have relatives in Glendale, Los Angeles, Paris, Lyon and Cologne. These films and photographs belong with them too.

The BlockadeSixteen children stranded in Goris for thirty days. Original Armenian version, plus English, French and German.Do you have a photograph from these villages?
Families in the diaspora often keep the photographs that were lost at home: a wedding, a harvest, a grandparent’s portrait. If yours come from Mets Masrik, Khachik or the villages around them, I would like to hear from you. The family decides what is shared and how. Nothing is published without their agreement.
